چکیده
As important non-invasive techniques in brain stimulation, transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) have been studied and compared in this paper by employing impedance method and a 3D human head model. The quantitative analysis of distributions of current density and electric field by tDCS and TMS have been presented. Results are compared and potential applications are discussed. Gyri-precise head model of transcranial direct current stimulation: improved spatial focality using a ring electrode versus conventional rectangular pad.
The spatial resolution of conventional transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) is considered to be relatively diffuse owing to skull dispersion. However, we show that electric fields may be clustered at distinct gyri/sulci sites because of details in tissue architecture/conductivity, notably cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). We calculated the cortical electric field/current density magnitude in...

Introduction: Staff and patient Movement in static magnetic field MRI scanner induces current density in the human tissues, so cause biologic effects in people. The aim of this study was the Modelling of current density induced by moving individual with different velocities in static magnetic field of magnetic resonance imaging. Materials and Methods: current ...
متن کاملOutcomes in spasticity after repetitive transcranial magnetic and transcranial direct current stimulations
Non-invasive brain stimulations mainly consist of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation and transcranial direct current stimulation. Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation exhibits satisfactory outcomes in improving multiple sclerosis, stroke, spinal cord injury and cerebral palsy-induced spasticity. By contrast, transcranial direct current stimulation has only been studied in post...
متن کاملMethodological Dimensions of Transcranial Brain Stimulation with the Electrical Current in Human
Transcranial current stimulation (TCS) is a neuromodulation method in which the patient is exposed to a mild electric current (direct or alternating) at 1-2 mA, resulting in an increase or a decrease in the brain excitability. This modi.cation in neural activities can be used as a method for functional human brain mapping with causal inferences. This method might also facilitate the treatments ...
متن کاملEconomic evaluation of resistant major depressive disorder treat-ment in Iranian population: a comparison between repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation with electroconvulsive
Background: It is estimated that major depression disorders constitute 8.2% of years lived with disability (YLDs) globally. The repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) and Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) are two relative common interventions to treat major depressive disorders, especially for treatment resistant depression. In this study the cost- effectiveness and cost-utility of r...
